Design and management need to consider plant development and the conditions of each plot. Available water, soil and property routine guide the choice of system.

## The need for water changes throughout development.

In citrus, management involves deciding when to irrigate and how much water to apply, considering the phase of the plants and the environment. Therefore, the orchard schedule needs to monitor rainfall, climate demand and soil moisture information.

Orchard and sectors

Plant age, spacing and differences between plots guide the design of the application and the division into sectors.

Localized application

Drip and micro-sprinkler have different ways of wetting the soil. Compare the area served, the roots and the operating structure.

Management and nutrients

If there is fertigation, the structure needs to be compatible with water and inputs, in addition to meeting the agronomic plan.

## What to gather to talk about the project.

- Area and age of Tahiti lime plants.
- Spacing and identification of plots.
- Existing water source, pumping and analysis.
- Current system and management information.

You can start with the information you already know. The team organizes the data necessary for the evaluation with you.

## The program follows the orchard.

Recording rainfall, sector operation and humidity observations helps review irrigation. Inspection of filters and emitters keeps operation verifiable. Application times should not be copied from another area without evaluating their conditions.

## Questions about lime irrigation.

**What is the best system for Tahiti lime?**

The choice depends on the soil, the root region to be served, the water source and the operation. Drip and micro-sprinkler should be compared under orchard conditions.

**Are there lime projects in Perin's portfolio?**

Fazenda Nirvana D’Oeste and Brasfruit — Fazenda Kamla are the published records that include Tahiti lime. Its pages feature areas, locations, photographs and videos.
